Holme Hall Golf Club was formed in1908 on natural heath land with an abundance of gorse,broom and heather. It is18 holes,6404 yards in length with a par of 71.It is a regular venue of the Lincolnshire Amateur and Open Championship and has as its most famous Honorary Member Tony Jacklin OBE,CBE. Tony played much of his junior golf on the course and the club still proudly exhibit both his and Tom Weiskopf's scorecards when they both scored 63 in 1971. In 1993 a new course irrigation system was introduced incorporating greens,tees and fairways and a large lake holding 3 million gallons of water was built on the side of the 17th fairway. In conjunction with this, the Club has made great efforts to improve both the environmental and ecological situation. It has now become a well established habitat for numerous species of birds, mammals, amphibians, wild plants, trees shrubs and other wildlife and was presented with a "Highly Commended Award" in a recent national environmental competition. The improvement brought about by the enhanced irrigation system now means that the green staff and not the natural elements have the control over the watering of the course.This has proved a tremendous asset to the course which is built on extremely sandy sub-soil and which hitherto, in drought conditions,had become very burnt and arid. Holme Hall welcomes green fee paying visitors who are affiliated golf club members Parties and societies can be accommodated on weekdays only, by prior arrangement with the Secretary. It may assist casual visitors to enquire as to availability prior to travelling.The Secretary would be pleased to answer any questions you may have regarding your visit to the course. A Dress Code applies to both the course and the club house. Jacket and Tie to be worn after 6.30pm in the lounge/dining room. Smart casual may be worn at all times in the mixed lounge. The resident professional will be able to cater for all your golfing needs from his large and varied selection of equipment and clothes,displayed in the professionals shop. The catering staff offer a choice of food ranging from full meals to snacks, tea or coffee. These are available every day. Parties are advised to give as much notice as possible to the catering staff of their requirements.
